The Trumpette Story:
Jon Stevenson's inspiration for Trumpette came after he adopted his son Nicky (as a single parent). He was in the men's fashion industry in San Francisco for ten years, after the arrival of Nicky he saw that there was not much out there for little boys. Jon was quick to start developing Onesie's for Nicky to wear. Nicky and his au pair where at the park one afternoon and people approached them, saying "What a cute little girl!" He then designed a onesie with the word "boy" boldly silk screened across the front so there would be no more confusion... This was the beginning of Trumpette!
After closing one of his store locations and selling another, Jon and Nicky moved to Petaluma, where life for both of them was less hectic. It was there in Petaluma where he got the idea of the perfect little dozen (after all, Petaluma is the chicken capital). The Perfect Little Dozen is a dozen socks packaged in an egg carton. With the success of the perfect little dozen, Jon continued designing socks that did not fit the everyday "Cute" mold. Moving to Sacramento allowed Trumpette to expand even further, working with new as well as traditional ideas Jon has built Trumpette to what it is today. Trumpette is now entering its "Twenty Anniversary" year and going very strong!
